Prague City Tourism regularly conducts analytical activities and processes statistical data from the Czech Statistical Office, third parties, academic departments or affiliated institutions such as the Institute of Planning and Development or the ICT Operator. It cooperates with the national CzechTourism agency in collecting data about the number of visitors to tourist destinations. The data are used to formulate and modify strategic plans and to identify relevant source markets, trends and target groups, enabling precise the targeting of marketing activities. Prague City Tourism is a member of the international professional platforms City Destinations Alliance and TourMIS. In recent years, analyses have focused on the recovery of tourism after the pandemic, analysing the transformation of source markets, changes in consumer behaviour or spending levels. Attention was also focused on the post-Covid recovery of tourism in Prague compared to other European cities (Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest, Warsaw, Berlin). A significant part of the analyses consists of assessing the season in terms of the impact and efficacy of marketing campaigns and the evaluation of relevant macro trends. Prague City Tourism also traditionally participates in uploading and sharing complete tourism data to the TourMIS platform, especially data on the number of overnight stays and arrivals, allowing PCT can monitor similar tourism trends across Europe. It also provides regular information to the Czech and foreign professional public and members of the academic community. Representatives of the company participate in the platform’s annual workshop in Vienna.
