The company’s mission is to develop tourism in Prague as a high added value destination with respect for the quality of life of the local community. It motivates us to keep getting to know Prague better and to share the joy of this knowledge with others. Cultivation is the refinement and education of one’s self and others. Cultivation is more than just beauty. It is a means to a better world, a cultured world where people feel good and where conflict does not reign because people are courteous and empathetic towards one another. It has already been scientifically proven that active cultural engagement contributes to curing people of diseases and being more responsible towards nature and others. Cultivation thrives in collaborative teams. They achieve better results than teams based on competition. Collaboration requires empathy for the needs of others, openness and trust. Our company is like a body that works so that all its parts support each other when one of them is weakened. Hence, each of us should be here for others, just as our company is here for Prague and its people, for its well-being and development.

Prague is one of the most beautiful and wealthiest cities in the world. It is sometimes called the mother of cities. This places high demands on the quality of its presentation. Prague City Tourism is the largest destination management organisation in the Czech Republic and must rise to the challenge of presenting a truly world-class city. Consequently, PCT is the natural sector leader and must challenge itself, because it is at the forefront and needs to keep moving forward relentlessly and innovating with the courage to blaze new trails. At the same time, it is co-responsible for the status of tourism in the Czech Republic and for helping it to evolve. This is why it mentors and supports smaller organisations whose founders do not have resources as generous as Prague’s, but who still contribute to sustainable tourism in their regions and municipalities.

Sustainability has several aspects for us. It is economic, social, cultural and environmental. For us, economic sustainability means operating Prague City Tourism so that its management does not burden our founder, the City of Prague, but instead aims for neutrality with respect to the city’s budget. Economic sustainability also means the transparency of management, publicly responsible procurement and the involvement of disadvantaged people in the company’s activities. For us, social sustainability means supporting the local community and our partners in tourism. As a part of cultural sustainability, we focus on systematically involving Prague’s artistic and craft community in the company’s activities, thus lending it economic and marketing support. We also closely monitor the environmental impact of tourism and participate in projects that respect the environment.
